About NEM INSURANCE PLC

NEM Insurance PLC traces its origins in the Nigerian insurance landscape back to 1948, initially operating through the agency of Edward Turner & Co. The company evolved into a Nigerian branch of NEM General Insurance Association Limited of London in 1965, before formally incorporating as a wholly Nigerian entity in 1970, in adherence to the Companies Decree of 1968. Further solidifying its presence, NEM Insurance PLC became a publicly quoted company on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1989 following the privatization efforts by the Federal Government of Nigeria. Over decades, it has established itself as a significant player within the financial services sector, specifically focusing on general insurance. The core business of NEM Insurance PLC centers on providing a comprehensive array of non-life insurance products and services. These offerings span various categories, including motor insurance, fire and special perils insurance, general accident insurance, marine insurance, aviation insurance, oil & gas insurance, and engineering insurance. The company also offers specialized coverages such as travel insurance, which includes Schengen and Worldwide plans, as well as professional indemnity and goods-in-transit insurance. While its primary operations and extensive branch network are concentrated within Nigeria, NEM Insurance PLC also extends its reach into the West African sub-region through its subsidiary, RegencyNEM Insurance (Ghana) Limited, facilitating service to a broader market. Additional subsidiaries include NEM Health, which focuses on seamless access to quality healthcare, and NEM Asset.
