About cheqfx

cheqfx tracks official, bank, fintech, and parallel-market exchange rates for African currencies — plus crypto and stablecoin rates — side by side, so the gap between them is visible at a glance.

Rates shown are illustrative unless your data source is live. Connect real central bank, banking, fintech, P2P, and exchange feeds to make this production data.

What we track

Official/central bank rates, commercial banks, fintechs and mobile money, and the parallel/street market, compared side by side for every currency we cover. Crypto and stablecoin rates sit alongside them, since USDT and USDC have become a real channel for moving value in and out of many of these currencies, not a side curiosity. Where a provider quotes a currency against more than one base currency — say, both USD and EUR, or a stablecoin — we show each one on its own terms rather than collapsing them into a single number.

How the data works

Rates are pulled directly from each provider's own feed, not estimated or interpolated. A provider marked Verified means we've directly confirmed their feed is live and returning consistent, accurate data — not a claim the provider makes about itself. Where a data source isn't yet connected, figures shown are illustrative rather than live; we'd rather be upfront about that than quietly present placeholder numbers as real ones.
