Scammers Steal $2M in ETH via Fake GIWA Network Targeting DYORSWAP

In a recent incident, scammers successfully stole around $2 million in Ether (ETH) by exploiting a fake GIWA blockchain bridge, which was misidentified by decentralized exchange (DEX) DYORSWAP as part of the legitimate project’s mainnet.

According to DYORSWAP's reconstruction, the fraudulent bridge attracted around 767.65 ETH from 1,335 addresses, ultimately allowing scammers to drain 766.25 ETH from the platform.

GIWA, an Ethereum layer-2 network developed by Upbit operator Dunamu, clarified that its mainnet has not launched and warned users about false connection details circulating online.

DYORSWAP confirmed that its own contracts remained secure and that they are actively tracing the bridge deployer and the flow of funds. To assist affected users, DYORSWAP has compensated them with more than 200 ETH from its own reserves.
