Bitcoin Dips Below $83K as Liquidity Issues Hinder Bullish Momentum

Bitcoin (BTC) experienced a notable decline on Monday, dropping below $83,000 for the first time since September 21. This downturn coincided with a broader drop in US stock futures, triggered by President Trump's failure to rule out further military action in Iran.

The price drop was exacerbated by the appearance of over $30 million in ask liquidity around the $85,700 mark, which analysts suggest was a calculated move by large traders to influence market direction. As a result, Bitcoin's momentum faltered, failing to test its recent highs above $87,000.

Data from CoinGlass indicated that approximately $70 million in long positions were liquidated within 24 hours, reflecting the volatility in the crypto market. The overall sentiment was further dampened as Nasdaq futures fell by 0.9% and WTI crude oil prices surged past $95 per barrel.

Market analysts, including Aksel Kibar, have expressed concerns that Bitcoin's recent performance lacks the decisiveness needed for a breakout, suggesting a potential return to the trading range between $60,000 and $80,000. The next significant challenge for Bitcoin bulls will be to reclaim the yearly open level of $88,700.
